We’ve seen Microsoft come up with Family Packs for Windows 7 that essentially made Windows 7 available for a meager $50 per machine, unfortunately the offer was short lived. The next big consumer launch will be Office 2010, I’ve posted quite a few articles about the new features in Office 2010. Today, CentrumXP.pl posted leaked box shots of the retail packages of Office 2010 which will be released in June 2010. The leaked box shots are of:
-
Home & Business
-
Home & Student
-
Office Professional Academic
-
Office Professional
Of these 4, the Office 2010 Home & Student box reads “Family Pack*”. Unfortunately the resolution is a bit low to read the fine print below it. Here’s the box shot:
An excellent move I must say, hopefully this isn’t a limited period offer.
UPDATE: Ina Fried informed me on twitter that Office Home & Student 2007 is also a ‘Family Pack’ but it isn’t labelled so. I had checked the Microsoft Store website before posting this but I didn’t go through it thoroughly, it mentions that one license allows 3 installations under ‘Before you buy’.
My bad.
