My friends use a virtual machine, VMware Workstation, when on my computer. My friends have caught nasty viruses, messed up the registry and even nuked the c: drive. At any time they could boot into a fresh install of Windows or Linux. I have my stuff safely tucked away on a backed up virtual machine no one can touch except me. If my freinds physically destroy my computer, I can be up and running on another computer in 15 minutes. Nice feature.
