I am a regular user of Posterous and ever since I’ve installed Windows 7, IE 8 has become my browser of choice. But there was one problem, IE 8’s default security settings do not allow the use of Posterous bookmarklet. This became an irritation for me. However, there is a quick & easy setting to be changed that will enable Posterous (& maybe disable something else
)
To enable the Posterous bookmarklet:
-
Open IE 8
-
Press Alt, then ‘t’ & then ‘o’
-
Select the ‘Security’ tab
-
Choose ‘Custom’
-
Scroll down to ‘Scripting’
-
Disable the XSS filter
-
Restart IE
Screen shot:

Done. Now you should be able to use the Posterous bookmarkelt.

I am still not able to make the bookmarklet work “properly”. It is not showing somethings like pics and working stupidly. Do you have any idea what the fix for this is?

In IE8 after disaling the filter, the bookmarklet works “properly” for me. Not showing stuff seems to be an issue with the site, try selecting the image & then use the bookmerklet.
