I totally agree, but I guess total no of private vehicles plying on the road must also be controlled and car pooling could also be a option. Also, heavy vehicles should not be allowed on all roads, specially smaller roads and they should be given a particular time slot to travel.

Yeah tempos could be used.

I too loved the day the rickshaws and taxis were off the road.

What we need are solar powered rickshaws

That’s why I re-phrased to a partial yes.

By implementing a partial ban by which a rick cannot ply on the main roads and is restricted to only by-lanes within a locality some of your problems will be answered.

And TV sets etc. have tempo service which is widely used by most vendors.

BEST buses are usually on time unless off course there is traffic, to reduce which is the whole point of the post.

Trust me yaar, traveling on the 16th was an awesome feeling. I use rickshaws for 9 out of 10 places I go to but still I feel that there should be a restriction on where these rickshaws go.

If they are banned in town and still people are living, suburbans can manage too.
