Win 7 Ultimate, Ultimately Fake

You might be knowing about the leaked screen shots of the next Windows - Windows 7, the screen shots read as Windows 7 Ultimate. I have been rubbishing those screen shots as fake ever since I have seen them, the reason is pretty simple. Why would a company name a Milestone version as ultimate? It makes no sense what so ever. But, people don’t believe me. Some say they have downloaded the leaked milestone version and can testify that it’s real. I don’t buy it. Can’t be.

The chances of a company of Microsoft’s magnitude at one hand keeps absolutely mum about Windows 7 at the same time names it Ultimate? It ‘aint possible.

Recently a friend of mine, inside source had a chance of getting to watch Windows 7 in real. He had a chat with me about it, I wanted to blog about it previously but I thought I should not. Another friend of mine today posted the same info on a forum, this time he published it in public so I thought, what the heck? I will do too.

All screen shots are FAKE! Yes, F. A. K. E.!

A speculation is that Windows 7 shall be named as Windows BG (Bill Gates, if you did not guess it).

M1 is command line. The interface looks like Windows Vista but has a different color scheme. It will also be featuring some Office Suite components, which ones is not sure, but Windows 7 is speculated to be featuring some Microsoft Office Suite components.

The current Indexing service will be replaced.

That’s all for now.

My source is not a highly placed person in Microsoft, but is placed in Microsoft and hence can be relied on. If he were to be false, then there is no one that can be trusted.

All that is confirmed about Windows 7 is that Windows Paint will be getting new features as reported by your’s truly on this blog. Another thing that is known is that Windows 7 will be having Windows Server 08 as it’s core.

I had heard that basic windows components like Notepad and Wordpad would be updated. I think that’s what your friend was reffering to when he said Windows would get Office components.

@Pallab: I don’t use Opera, so found this as a fancier way of saying, use Opera if you want to.

And, yeah these MVPs get a lot of goodies and we get only demo versions :(

Those Office features would be nothing more then Microsoft Office Document Reader for reading Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF & XPS files out of the box. Wordpad is useless anyway & should be removed or a new product should be there combining simplicity of notepad & text formatting of Wordpad with save as DOCX feature
